Get answers to frequently asked questions about online counselling
Sessions take place via secure video call. You'll receive a link before your appointment. All you need is a private space, stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. It's as effective as in-person therapy, with the added convenience of being in your own comfortable space.
The first session is about getting to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to counselling, your goals, and any questions you have. It's a safe space to share at your own pace. I'll also explain how therapy works and what you can expect going forward.
Each session is typically 50 minutes. The number of sessions varies based on your individual needs and goals. Some clients find relief in a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. We'll regularly review your progress together.
Absolutely. Everything discussed in our sessions is strictly confidential. I adhere to professional ethical guidelines and POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). The only exceptions are if there's a risk of harm to yourself or others, which I would discuss with you.
